Cross-Cultural, Multilingual, and Localized Design
Limited Capacity seats available

Today’s devices, interfaces, screens, and apps are no longer local. This panel will introduce evidence, research and field experiences on how people from different cultures, languages, and places may interact with digital products and services differently through real-world examples of successes and failures.

This conversation will offer design heuristics for how to approach interactive projects considering globalization, multilingualism, and cultural sensitivity.

Introducing Design to a Dev Culture (Room: The Quarry)
Limited Capacity seats available

Bringing the design process to a traditionally developer-led organization can be a huge challenge. Established processes and cultures affect how broadly design can be applied, how user feedback is incorporated, and how successful a design effort will ultimately be.

Chris Alvarez recently tackled this challenge in his own organization and will be sharing his approach as well as the interactive presentation used to introduce design to his own engineering team.

Workshop: Brand - An inside Job (Learn to Communicate Like a Pro)
Limited Capacity full
Adding this to your schedule will put you on the waitlist.

Excitement and enthusiasm is just not enough. One of the worst feelings in the world is seeing a glazed-over look from someone you are speaking to about your business and receiving the comment…”I don’t understand"…like from Josh in the movie “Big.”

You deserve to know the secret to having your business understood so clearly that gaining funding or new customers is simpler. This does NOT happen by accident and it is NOT a clever name or cool logo. Actually, it is comes from your brand DNA. It must be solidly defined so you or you team can create well-understood
names, tag-lines, logo and marketing copy for the brand and its products faster and easier. Companies pay small fortunes to agencies to develop the materials to have your business solution understood in seconds. This proven brand development process has been decoded and developed into steps to follow.

BrandU® is that highly effective trusted process used by 30,000+ entrepreneurs worldwide. There’s a specific framework that’s aligned to how a human mind make a decision. Whatever decision you want them to make. Learn to communicate like a pro.

Web Masters Mingle
In many countries, designing for accessibility isn’t just morally correct; it’s also a legal obligation. Throughout the EU, legislation to prevent discrimination against disabled people exists; failing to comply with these laws could cost a company dearly. Compliance is cheaper, but it pays big dividends, too.

Come to this web masters meet and mingle and converse with other designers, web masters and individuals who think about "accessibility"  and designing interfaces for all, share tips, tricks, knowledge and experiences and make new connections while doing so.
