Exit Strategy? What's Yours?

As an owner or a founder of a company or business when you meet with financial advisors, potential investors, or future employees at some point in time they are going to ask you about your exit strategy. If you are like most entrepreneurs, you probably do not realize that developing your exit strategy is one of the most important steps you will ever take. By not having the right exit strategy in place today, you are risking both the financial wealth of your venture and that of you own personal financial security.

So, let’s ask you - What's the exit strategy for the company you founded?

Come to this session to understand why it’s important to define your exit strategy at the beginning of your startup, listen, and learn about some of the many different types of exit strategies and their implications, ask questions and get insight into which strategy might maximize your wealth whether that be selling to a strategic partner, a financial buyer, going IPO, offering an ICO, or ESOP. SWOT analysis is a tool, not necessarily an end, that helps you both identify and mitigate your biggest challenges and leverage your biggest assets. It can be used for any kind of project or opportunity, and whether you do it or not, those now unidentified threats and weaknesses are still part of the challenge.

Awareness allows you to mitigate and control, which leads to success. Without awareness, your success addressing the issues is mostly dumb luck or instinct. The most important aspect of learning to do a SWOT analysis is that situations change, and you must often course correct with a new updated analysis. This becomes a common tool for all members of your team to begin to approach problems and analysis in a coherent consistent way, with or without the leadership present at any given moment.
