Mentor Talk: Judith Nowlin - Giving Birth to a Startup
Limited Capacity seats available

Judith Nowlin, one of BizWest Media’s Boulder Valley 40 Under Forty class of 2017 Honorees, is an entrepreneur and mobile technology innovator, an avid community supporter, mentor, and mother of three. Judith created iBirth™, a mobile application born out of ten years of service in maternity care as a boots-on-the-ground birth practitioner. Judith’s original vision has grown from a single concept launched in December of 2009 into what has become the larger approach of providing software-as-a-service for health organizations all around the nation. She has built a growing organization that partners with large health systems, hospitals, OB GYN practices, and birth centers to deliver branded and customizable digital learning ecosystems aimed at improving maternal healthcare outcomes for mothers and babies via patient education and engagement. In late-June 2018, iBirth was acquired by Washington, DC based Babyscripts, Inc., the leading virtual care platform for managing obstetrics.

Judith takes great interest in giving back to the community and is a proud member of The Women’s Council at the CU Boulder LEEDS School of Business, offering mentorship to budding female business school students. Judith has also been awarded a seat in the Elementary Instructional Technology Advisory Committee of the St. Vrain Valley School District. This group of parents, teachers and staff representatives make policy recommendations about the allocation of technology in our community classrooms.

Come sit, listen, laugh, have a fun-filled conversation with Judith, and share in some of her experiences and challenges in “Giving Birth to a Startup”.

Women in Team Leadership Roles is Good for Business
Limited Capacity seats available

In today’s global marketplace where diverse backgrounds, skills, and experience are critical for strategic and operational decisions, having more women involved at the highest levels of business management and organizational governance is associated with more profitable and well-managed organizations, our startups should be no different.

Even though the percentage of women in the talent pipeline has steadily increased over the last three decades there are still large gender gaps from entry-level right through to top executive positions. Research from the Boardlist shows that in Tech, women hold only 30% of the entry-level roles and only approximately 7% of private tech company boards are made up of women.

Come and join this conversation and hear some of reasons why having women in your organization's leadership roles will benefit your entire organization, including the benefits of greater diversity in thought processes, organizational and management trust, growing collaborative cultures, and mentoring and team development.

Mentor Talk: Whitedove Gannon - Balancing Life, Business, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship
Limited Capacity seats available

Whitedove Gannon, the “down-to-earth chick with the different name”, is the founder of StartUP Academy for Entrepreneurs, and owner of In the Books, LLC, and not your typical accountant.

Going beyond her zeal for re-inventing traditional bookkeeping and redefining what it means to be efficient, she is also a happily married entrepreneur with five kids! Over the past four years of growing an accounting and bookkeeping business, she has had the pleasure of leading other small businesses and entrepreneurs to stay ahead of the financial aspects of their business while creating an opportunity for them to run their business efficiently in a cloud-based environment.

With a strong desire to be unique and to express herself creatively, Whitedove is not your average accountant.  After spending almost 15 years as the co-owner with her husband of a mid-sized company in 2013 she started her own bookkeeping firm with a desire to re-invent traditional bookkeeping and redefine what it means to be efficient. With that goal in mind, Whitedove developed a new approach to working with clients – going beyond the "data-entry only" mentality for bookkeepers and focusing on resolving business efficiency while adding value and serving the day-to-day needs of business clients.

That's right where she wants to be: Balancing Life

Come and enjoy conversation and laugh with Whitedove as she recounts her entrepreneurial journey, and while doing so learn how she balances life, business, innovation and entrepreneurship, and her family!

I will make this investment in my life because MY LIFE IS WORTH THE FIGHT. – Damsel IN DEFENSE.

Here is why you should come and participate in this Warrior Workshop!
1. It is a fact that the statistics of becoming a victim of violence are horrible! 1 in every 4
2. You will become empowered and confident!

4. You will unleash your inner WARRIOR!
5. It’s so much FUN! - Damsel IN DEFENSE.
